​Poisoned Symptoms

Call for emergency medical assistance or the hospital if you can't identify the poison, if it's medication or if there are no instructions.
When to call for help?

Immediately call for emergency medical assistance if the following symptoms occur:

  •     Vomiting, nausea, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, fever, sleepiness or head ache.
  •     Confusion or loss of consciousness.
  •     Uncontrollably restless or agitated.
  •     Burns or redness around the mouth and lips (rashes).
  •     Giddiness.
  •     Blue lips.
  •     Double vision.
  •     Abdominal or chest pain.
  •     Palpitations.
  •     Irritability.
  •     Loss of appetite or bladder control.
  •     Numbness.
  •     Muscle twitching.
  •     Seizures.
  •     Weakness.
  •     Breath has chemical smell, e.g. gasoline.
  •     Burns, stains and odors on the person or anything around him or her.
  •     Empty medicine bottles or scattered pills.

If you suspect poisoning, call 997 or the Drug information Center at NGHA (+96612520088 Ext. 12555). Give them information about the symptoms and information about was ingested, how much and when.
What to do while waiting for help?

  •     Do not induce vomiting unless instructed by a medical professional.
  •     If exposed to poisonous fumes get the person into fresh air immediately.
  •     If the poison was ingested, remove anything remaining in the mouth. Do not give anything to the person unless instructed by a medical professional.
  •     If the poison is a household cleaner or a similar chemical, follow the instructions on the label for accidental poisoning.
  •     If the poison spilled on the person's clothing, remove them. If eyes or skin came in contact with poison, wash out the skin or eyes with cool or lukewarm water until help arrives.
  •     Take the poison container with you to the hospital.
