| Properties |
Fusidam is an antibiotic with a powerful bactericidal and bacterio static activity.
The ointment and the cream both are formulated to give high penetration for the antibiotic even when applied to intact skin. |
| Therapeutic indications |
Fusidam is indicated to treat skin infections caused by staphylococci, Streptococci, Propionibacterium acnes and sensitive organisms.
The most important indications are:
Impetigo, Carbuncles, Infected wounds
Folliculitis, Bacterial Dermatitis, Burns
Boils, Prionychia, Erythrasma,
Abscess.
The cream is a vanishing greasless suitable for application on the face and the scalp. |
| Warnings and precautions |
- Do not use on patients showing hyper - sensitivity to the drug.
- Do not use for long period unless indicated by your doctor.
- Do not apply to the eye and nose |
| Dosage & administration |
| The doctors choice if ointment or cream will be applied to the effected area 2-3 times daily for 7 days except in special cases where prolonged use is indeicated as in acne vulgaris. |
